In honor of the company's 50th anniversary, Taylor Guitars has unveiled this limited-edition beauty – the 50th Anniversary 614ce LTD. This Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar combines classic Taylor appointments with modern features, resulting in an instrument that's equally comfortable to play and good looking.
The 614ce LTD boasts a Grand Auditorium body with a top made from Sitka spruce, that's treated to a transparent white finish with a contrasting white edgeburst. This unique aesthetic complements the body's back and sides, which are made from premium figured big leaf maple.
The neck of the 50th Anniversary 614ce LTD is carved from hard rock maple and is topped with a West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard featuring Wing inlays made from green abalone, a slight contrast to the colors found on the rest of the instrument.
This instrument comes loaded with Taylor's ES2 onboard electronics for an incredible plugged-in experience. This system transparently amplifies the guitar's natural voice, controlled by discreet knobs for volume and active bass and treble adjustment for fine-tuning of EQ.
Further details of this instrument include its single-ring rosette in green abalone to match its fingerboard inlays, faux-tortoiseshell body binding, and gold hardware that beautifully complements the maple's warm complexion. A commemorative 50th-anniversary label inside the guitar makes it not only a great-playing instrument, but also a collector's item.
