YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONDEMAND WEBINAR IF:

  • You are a writer who wants to turn their blog into a book
  • You are a writer who wants to harness the web to help land a book deal
  • You are a writer looking to learn how to grow their online presence
  • You are a writer who wants to use the content they've already written to produce a book
  • You are a writer who wants to be on the cutting edge of modern publishing

ABOUT THIS ONDEMAND WEBINAR:

We've all see the over-night successes of blog-to-book deals. Whether it's a traditional blog, a Twitter feed, a Tumblr blog, or something else entirely, publishers and agents are actively looking to discover new talent on the Internet. Could you be next?

Maybe you've been blogging since 2005 and waiting for your ship to come in. Maybe you've started a parody Twitter account with hundreds of thousands of followers, or maybe you've got the next big idea brewing, and you want to set yourself up right to make the book deal happen. This presentation shows you how to move from pixels to print whether your idea is living on the web or waiting to launch. We'll cover what publishers are looking for in blog-to-book properties, what it takes to make the Internet-to-print jump, and how to know if the traffic you have is big enough to get an agent's or editor's attention.

Agent Kate McKean has ushered dozens of blog-to-book properties into print, from the New York Times Bestselling (twice!) ICanHasCheezburger.com to Noah Scalin's online art project Skulladay.com, to numerous Twitter and Tumblr accounts. She showa you what she's looking for, and not looking for, in good writing on the web, whether your work is fiction, non-fiction, humor, illustrated, instructive or something else entirely!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • What blogs (Twitter feeds, Tumblrs, or otherwise) make good books in print
  • How to know if your blog is popular enough to get an agent or editor's attention
  • What kind of content translates easier to print, and what doesn't
  • The kinds of blogs that do NOT make good books
  • About copyright and the web, and what you need to ask a lawyer
  • How to help build your readership to make that blog-to-book deal happen

INSTRUCTOR:

Kate McKean is a literary agent at the Howard Morhaim Literary Agency in Brooklyn, NY, where she has agented for more than 7 years. She earned her Master's in Fiction Writing at the University of Southern Mississippi before starting her publishing career, and enjoys both the creative and business aspects of her job. Her clients include the NEW YORK TIMES bestselling humor book I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER?, New York Times Bestselling YA author of ASYLUM Madeleine Roux (who Kate discovered on her blog), and blogger, designer, and creativity expert Noah Scalin. She is most interested in contemporary women's fiction, middle grade and young adult fiction of all stripes, craft, sports, humor, and pop culture.

Nice Lightweight Case with a Handy Pencil Holder
Color: Sky Blue
I received this 11-inch / iPad 10th Generation 10.9" case with Pencil Holder in Sky Blue through the Vine program, and overall it’s a nice, practical case. The sky blue color is very pretty—soft and clean looking without being too bright. It gives the iPad a fresh look and feels nice in hand. The fit is good for the iPad 10th generation, and the soft TPU back makes it easy to install while still feeling secure once it’s on. I also appreciate the built-in Apple Pencil holder. It keeps the pencil from rolling around or getting lost in a bag, and it’s easy to access when needed. The trifold stand works well for basic viewing and typing angles. It holds the iPad steady when watching videos or browsing. However, the folds can feel a little less firm than some higher-end cases, so you sometimes need to position it carefully to keep the angle just right. I do like that the case stays slim and lightweight, so it doesn’t add much bulk while still offering decent everyday protection. Overall, it’s a good, functional case with a nice color and useful pencil holder. It may not feel quite as premium as some more expensive options, but it does the job well and is a solid choice for everyday use.

Great for iPad kids👍
Color: Sky Blue
I bought this in 2023/2024 and it's still intact and usable after hundreds of food stains and me accidentally dropping it. Thank you for protecting my iPad, very great product. Otherwise, my mom would've beat my ass for breaking the iPad. PSA, the case looks the same as the picture😛

Great case for the price! Love the color!
Color: Sky Blue, Color: Sky Blue
I’ve had this case on my iPad (A16 11th gen) for a few months now and it’s held up really well. It still looks good with only a few minor scuff marks, which is expected with regular use. The front cover has a slight magnetic feel, so it stays closed nicely, and I like that it folds back to prop the iPad up for watching or typing. It’s not super bulky but still gives good protection. Also has a pen holder spot on the side! Overall, it’s a great affordable option if you want something simple, functional, and durable without spending a lot!
