Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K

This handheld digital film camera is designed to deliver high end cinematic images in a remarkably compact and affordable form. Built around a 4/3 size image sensor with a native resolution of 4096 by 2160 pixels, it captures detailed 4K DCI images with a wide dynamic range of 13 stops. The sensor design and color science are optimized to produce natural skin tones, smooth highlight roll off and a film like response that integrates seamlessly into professional grading workflows.

Dual native ISO technology enables clean images across a wide range of lighting conditions, with excellent low light performance that makes it suitable for documentary, event and narrative work alike. The active Micro Four Thirds lens mount provides compatibility with a large ecosystem of compact photographic and cinema lenses, while offering electronic control of iris, focus and zoom on supported optics. This flexibility allows precise creative control without the need for additional accessories. 

The lightweight carbon fiber reinforced polycarbonate body is designed for extended handheld operation. A multifunction grip places key controls such as recording, ISO, white balance and shutter settings directly under the fingers, allowing operators to react quickly to changing scenes. A large 5 inch capacitive touchscreen with a 1920 by 1080 resolution serves as both monitor and control interface, offering intuitive access to focus assist tools, exposure aids and menu settings. 

Recording is available in both Blackmagic RAW and ProRes formats, providing maximum flexibility between efficient post production and uncompromised image quality. The camera supports a wide range of frame rates, including high speed capture up to 120 frames per second in windowed modes for smooth slow motion. Media can be recorded internally to SD UHS II or CFast 2.0 cards, or directly to external drives via the high speed USB C port.

Professional audio is supported through a mini XLR input with phantom power, alongside a 3.5 mm stereo input that can also function as a timecode connection. An accurate internal timecode generator and extensive metadata support ensure reliable synchronization and efficient post production. DaVinci Resolve Studio is included, providing a complete editing, color grading and finishing solution.
