Doordat de Matterhorn bomen bestaan uit korte naalden en licht openstaande takken, vallen kerstballen en andere decoraties dieper in de boom en krijgt de boom meer perspectief. Je zet de kunstboom op door een insteek constructie, waarbij je de takken op kleurcode aan de boom haakt. Hierdoor ontstaat een mooie, natuurlijke gelaagdheid.
