De oude Zeisen wijngaard is meer dan 45 jaar oud en geeft inmiddels zeer krachtige en diepe trossen. Het klimaat is uniek omdat er naast de wijngaard een groot stuk bos ligt, dit zorgt voor grote verschillen in dag- en nachttemperatuur. Middagen zijn heel erg warm en de nacht erg koel waardoor het groeiseizoen erg rustig verloopt.

De wijnmakerij Pfaffl in het Weinviertel is innovatief en nuchter. Ondanks zijn omvang van maar liefst 67 hectare wijngaarden in Neder-Oostenrijk en Wenen, is het een familiebedrijf met een bijzondere charme. De vijfkoppige familie Pfaffl staat achter de topwijnen van de regio. De broers en zussen Roman, Elisabeth en Heidemarie werken met hun ouders Roman en Adelheid met enthousiasme en toewijding aan hun wijnen. Hun jarenlange ervaring en het vooruitstrevend denken, resulteert in een assortiment dat niet alleen in Oostenrijk gewaardeerd wordt, maar ook wijnkenners over de hele wereld overtuigt.

Lage opbrengst voor deze Weinviertel Zeisen

De Zeisen geeft niet veel Gruner Veltliner druiven maar wel hele krachtige die met de hand worden geoogst. Het volle en krachtige sap komt rustig vrij door een lage drukpersing en wordt vervolgens een aantal maanden gerijpt. In de geur een volle aanzet van citrus fruit, lichte kruiden, beetje witte peper en een zwerm van grapefruit. De smaak is fris en zachte tegelijk met een crispy aanzet van groene appel en citrus fruit. Achter in de smaak geeft hij de mooie eigenschappen van grapefruit, passievruchten en wat witte peper. I have to rave about the quality and the "intelligence" of this product. When I first got it, I installed it in my kitchen along an exterior wall, about 25' away from cooking appliances. I decided to give the mooka a shot and I was highly impressed. Being a smoker, I was just looking for something to help a little with air quality, I was not expecting this thing to completely filter all the air in the room, removing all the smoke and leaving behind completely pristine, clean air in 30 minutes! As I was smoking, the purifier automatically kicked into high gear, did its job and returned to the near silent setting. Awesome! The machine displays a number that corresponds with the current air quality and a light that changes from red to green, depending on the amount of particles in the air while the fan speed runs accordingly. This feature works well, smoking, cooking or anything that releases particles will instantly be detected. The build quality is on par with the more expensive unit that I have but honestly, I prefer this machine, regardless of price! During normal operation, you can barely hear it but it does get louder when the fan ramps up. On it’s higher setting, it is as loud as a box fan on medium speed and when the mooka goes max speed, it matches the sound level of a box fan set to high speed, if that helps.
