The APR Open Intake System is here for the 2.0T EA888.3/3B engine found in the Volkswagen MK6 Polo GTI (Typ AW) and Audi MK2 A1 (Typ GB)! The system also fits most 1.8T / 2.0T EA888.3 / 3B / 4 / 4B engines found in most MQB, MQB EVO, and MQB Ax platform vehicles making it a perfect low cost option for nearly any setup! The APR Open Intake System features a straight through filter design with minimal twists and bends for maximum flow and minimal pressure drop. Our proprietary washable and reusable cotton gauze high flow filter flows 22% more than stock at various depressions, registers less pressure drop at each depression, has 20% more surface area compared to stock, and uses a filter substrate material proven on other APR intake systems proven to provide the necessary filtration to last a lifetime. The filter's unique design allows for air to be fed from the front and sides of the filter with minimal restriction due to its shape and size. The outlet of the filter is massive, registering in at 127mm (5"), which has a cross sectional area 260% larger than the stock tube! Air velocity is accelerated through the system as it smoothly transitions to the factory back tube where the system either connects directly to the factory MAF housing, or to our back tube adapter, depending on engine. In either scenario, the transition is simple and clean for a perfect fit while promoting maximum flow. The heatshield and inlet pipe is made from a glass filled polypropylene material that acts as an excellent heat deflection barrier to minimize inlet temps compared to no shield at all. The airbox is fed with fresh air from the frontal inlet ducting, rather than the surrounding engine bay, or radiator, keeping the system constantly fed with cool incoming air to satisfy the turbochargers needs under even the most demanding situations. The system literally installs in minutes too as it simply pops into place on the factory mounting pegs! And thanks to the open design, you'll hear the engine and turbocharger putting in work to make maximum power!

Best Knife Block Set For Any Kitchen

We ordered and love the BRODARK Kitchen Knife Set with Block, Full Tang 15 Pcs Professional Chef Knife Set with Knife Sharpener, Food Grade German Stainless Steel Knife Block Set Steel-king Series. This set is one of the best purchases we've ever made.
We purchased 4 other brand sets and sent them back due to poor quality, etc. One set cost $299 and was not as sharp or solid as the Brodark, and had straight uncomfortable handles. Our new set is sharp, well-balanced, and the handles have a solid, comfortable feel and look great. The quality block looks very nice and has a sharpener to boot. The blades after washing look fantastic. For under $100 this is stupendous value and product (regardless of price). One set we ordered was from the famous German brand and it had knives missing and the steak knives had tiny handles; we sent it back.

Great knife set

Overall a great knife set. Well built and craftsmanship, excellent sharpness (we’ll see over time) great looks and value. Would have liked for this color to be available in the bigger set of 8 steak knifes.
Word of caution with this or any other knife set, DONOT PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER OR LEAVE THEM OUT TO DRY! YOU MUST CLEAN AND DRY THEM AFTER USE, If not they will have water spots which will be hard to remove or worse they’ll get rusted.

Very nice knives for the price, with additional options in the same pattern!

It’s been 10 months, so I feel like I can finally give a decent opinion on this knife set. First of all, I really appreciate how sharp they are out of the box. The set of different blade shapes suits my needs quite well, with the exception of the bread knife, which I swapped in the block for Brodark’s deboning knife. I also added their breaking butcher knife, cleaver, and brisket slicer to my collection, all which match the handle style for this set. (I really liked that I could get the same pattern for some additional blades to expand my kitchen set without getting a different pattern.)
The knives should never go through the dishwasher - I tested with one of the steak knives and water spots rusted lightly. I was able to buff the stains out, but the “high carbon stainless steel” is definitely as described. When used normally I do soap and water cleanup, dry, then back in the block without issues. I have honed the chef and slicing knives so they glide through food more easily, but they retain their edges well enough I haven’t needed to repeat the process in normal use.
The block is quite heavy and very durable, but still has a rather compact space use as it stands pretty close to vertical. I have mine pulled forward on the counter as our cabinets are rather low, and there is no hint of instability when drawing or resheathing blades. The finish is quite nice, and no need for touchups or worry about the blades wearing in the slots like softer wood blocks can have happen. All the blades fit well in their respective slots. You do need to grip the handles by the ends to draw some of the blades as there are a lot of tools in close proximity, and my fingers and hands are large.
I got my set last Black Friday. With the prices and discounts that keep popping up, you could still get a pretty good price most of the year. If you want the option for additional knives of similar handle pattern, do a quick Amazon search for ‘Brodark knife’ and check their options. There have been a lot of good spot sales lately!
