How the Chicken Coop Mister works (yes—hook it to a garden hose)

Create a cool “microclimate” in your coop or run with a simple hose hookup. The kit is designed for any standard 3/4" hose-thread spigot or garden hose—no special pump needed.

1. Connect at the faucet. Make sure the screen washer is inside the swivel faucet connector, then attach it to your water source. If your water has grit or sediment, add a fine-mesh 3/4" hose filter (sold separately) before the kit.

2. Attach the mist line. Push the 3/8" misting line into the faucet connector 1/2"–5/8" until snug.

3. Route and secure. Run the line along coop eaves/rafters at 8–12 ft high and secure with the included C-clamps every 2–3 ft.

4. Place foggers. Where you want the first mister, use the punch tool to make a hole in the line at about 90°–120° to the ground (aim slightly downward into the run and away from litter, feeders, and any electrical).

5. Insert foggers. Press the barbed end of the fogger into the hole; repeat for the rest, spacing every 3–4 ft.

6. Flush the line. Turn on water briefly to flush debris, then install the line end/plug to cap the run.

7. Test & fine-tune. Turn water back on and confirm each fogger sprays a fine mist; check for leaks and adjust aim as needed.

8. Automate (optional). Add a battery hose-end timer with short cycles to run quick bursts during the hottest hours.

Tips for coops & runs: Keep good airflow, use shade where you can, and run shorter cycles in humid weather. Drain the line before winter. For best results, operate within 40–80 PSI, and use clean water to keep nozzles clear.

Quick install tips

Mount 8–12 ft high, space foggers every 3–4 ft, keep spray away from feeders, outlets, and bedding, and run during the hottest hours. Use clean water and flush the line before first use.
