De Gibson 1942 Banner J-45 Murphy Lab Light Aged Vintage Sunburst is een eerbetoon aan een van de meest bijzondere periodes in de Gibson geschiedenis. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog produceerde Gibson gitaren met een "Banner" op de kop, een kwaliteitskeurmerk dat de instrumenten uit die periode onderscheidt. Het thermisch verouderde Red Spruce dek is het hart van deze gitaar.
