Вісенте Бласко Ібаньєс – іспанський письменник, журналіст і політик, у творчості якого поєдналися натуралістичні й реалістичні тенденції, автор оповідань, повістей, романів, через політичні переслідування мусив емігрувати до Франції.

Роман 'Непроханий гість' 1904 р. належить до соціально-психологічних романів, створених на початку 1900-х. Головні мотиви прози —усвідомлення героєм права на свободу і гідне життя, домінує соціально-економічна та політична проблематика. Автор колоритно, деталізовано і натуралістично описує побут і тяжке життя робітників. Кращі його твори, такі як 'Толедський собор', 'Вторгнення', 'Кров і пісок', позначені психологізмом як визначальним прийомом оповіді. Після 1910 р. Вісенте Бласко Ібаньєс відійшов від змалювання соціальної проблематики. У 1924 р. видав памфлет проти диктатора й короля Іспанії 'Здемаскований Альфонс XIII', після чого покинув Францію. Твори автора перекладені багатьма мовами, тепер і українською.
