Torn between his longing for a family and his simultaneous desire for gay love, Karl Kling hides his homosexuality from his wife and child while pursuing male romances in 1950s Germany. Karl Kling's story is one of revelations, and these he has addressed in a letter to his daughter, Hella, who had disowned Karl many years ago. Karl's letter is a cri de coeur from a father to a daughter he never really got to know, and he comes clean to her about his failed marriages, his fractured family relations--and his love for men. Taking place between the end of World War II and the 1980s, Parallel chronicles Karl's efforts to comply with social norms in order to keep his sexuality a secret. It also paints a picture of a life torn between conformity and rebellion, and the cruel realities of twentieth-century German society, where homosexuality was proscribed and punishable until 1994. Matthias Lehmann poignantly depicts the story of a decades-long yearning to live an open and free life, and the price Karl and those he loves must pay for it. Perfect Lightweight Sheets for Sensitive Hot sleepers

These sheets are soft, thin, and absolutely perfect for me. I have advanced CRPS and erythromelalgia, so I deal with severe nerve burning and heat sensitivity and cannot tolerate being overheated at all. I keep our AC between 56–64 degrees constantly, and since our studio is small, it usually stays around 61–63.
These sheets have been a lifesaver for sleep. They are lightweight, breathable, and don’t trap heat, which helps me avoid extreme flare-ups and the intense burning pain I deal with. I'm bedridden so I need to be comfortable. They feel comfortable against my skin and don’t worsen my symptoms when I’m already in a lot of pain and look nice, wash nicely.
For the price, they are also a great value. I’m genuinely grateful to have found something that helps me rest more comfortably. Will be buying more for us and gifts.

Great set of sheets

The Amazon Basics lightweight bed sheets have been such a great buy for my boys’ bedrooms. They come in a wide variety of colors, which made it easy to match each room’s style — and the colors stay bold and vibrant even after multiple washes, which honestly surprised me.
The quality is excellent for the price. The fabric stays soft, doesn’t pill, and holds up well to frequent washing (a must in kids’ rooms!). Each set includes a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and two pillow shams, which makes the value even better — most sets at this price point don’t include that many pieces.
Overall, these sheets are affordable, durable, colorful, and comfortable. I loved them enough to buy them in multiple colors, and they’ve held up beautifully. A fantastic budget-friendly choice for any household.
