Shooting Competition Silver Goblet from the Tim Calvert Collection-Another amazing piece from the famed Tim Calvert collection. This is an 835 silver plated goblet that measures 4 ¾” tall. Etched into the side is the script “Für den besten Hegeabschuss beim Rehwild gegeben von Gaujägermeister f.d Jagdgau Braunschweig Pflichttrophäenschau 7 November 1937”. This translates roughly to “For the best suspension shot in roe deer given by Gaujägermeister f.d Jagdgau Braunschweig Mandatory trophy shop” followed by the date. The bottom of the goblet is stamped 835 with silversmith marks. There is some toning and discoloration which will clean up should you decide to do so. A great item!
