Own a piece of chess history with the Official World Chess Championship Chess Set — the only set officially approved by FIDE for use in World Chess Championship events.

Designed by the world-renowned Pentagram architect Daniel Weil, the pieces draw inspiration from the proportions of classical Greek architecture and the iconic Staunton design, creating a set that’s both timeless and unique. Weil collaborated with elite chess players, including Magnus Carlsen and Vladimir Kramnik, during the design process.

This is the same set that was used in the 2018 Carlsen–Caruana match, as well as the previous three World Chess Championship matches. These chessmen are expertly crafted from high-grade boxwood, and the dark side undergoes a chemical process called ebonisation to give them the appearance of ebony without the price tag.

Each set is securely shipped in a special storage box to protect the pieces, which includes a foam insert with base cut-outs for each piece.

The picture below is showing of how they came in a box from bedsure, the sheets/ pillow cases and comforter come separated in different clear vacuum sealed bags. There are directions on how to open the sealed bags, but I just cut the top of both bags open at the top, and you hear a “pooof” noise, the blanket raised up. I let it air out for a few hours and then put it on my bed and it looked amazing.
