"Important and ingenious . . . ought to be read by every educated person." --The Spectator.

Renowned British economist Paul Ormerod explodes current economic theory to offer a radical new framework for understanding how human societies and economies really operate. His bold and impassioned arguments about how and why economics should be recast to reflect the current ills of Western society --including unemployment, crime, and poverty --are both persuasive and controversial. Integrating ideas from biology, physics, artificial intelligence, and the behavioral sciences, Ormerod's groundbreaking approach is sure to have far-reaching repercussions.

"A clear, concise, and yet sophisticated history of economic thought that should be required reading for Economics 101 courses. The fundamental challenge is to view the economy more as an organism than a machine and place it in its larger political, social, and moral context." --The Washington Post

"A vigorous, informed, and thoughtful critique of the dismal science." --Kirkus Reviews.

"Crucial reading for the concerned citizen, which ought to mean all of us. . . . This book is very timely indeed." --The Observer

"Economics has some battles to fight. . . . Unless economists improve their ability to analyze and prescribe in an intelligent way, and to provide a modicum of accuracy in their forecasts, the twentieth-century pseudoscience of economics will become a twenty-first-century museum piece." --Sunday Times (London).

Nice hoodie
Size: Large, Color: Teal Blue
A nice, light hoodie. The teal blue color is bright and cheerful. It is true to size. The reason I didn’t give it a five star rating is the inside is not the usual fluffy soft surface of a sweat shirt. It is more like a fine, short loop terry cloth towel. It is comfortable but different.

Great lighter weight hoodie
Size: XX-Large, Color: Black
Great lighter weight hoodie but still goodie material not stiff linen material, looks great on, comfortable and soft, true to size, did arrive a day late which made my gift late and it appeared from the info on Amazon that they held the package until the day before it was to arrive and just shipped it late which ticks me a bit but overall I’m happy with the item

A very nice hoody to wear: a bit dressy in appearance, warm & ample of sizing, hood, pockets & cuffs
Size: XX-Large, Color: Blue Wave
This is a very nice hoodie! Whereas I thought the fabric a bit thin upon arrival, after laundering and wearing for the first time, thought it to be very warm. The hood itself is very ample of size and I have to pull it back or it will hang down over my eyes, blocking my vision. The blue and black design also helps to make it look a bit dressier rather than casual of which a non-print hoody may display. My 2x size is of good fit, not too tight and with ample sized pockets. I also like the sleeve cuffs, as they are solid black and lengthy without being too tight. A good purchase indeed and recommended; would make a great gift for yourself or others.

You get what you pay for
Size: X-Large, Color: Teal Blue
Fair warning this hoodie runs small. I normally wear a medium for T-shirts and hoodies. I ordered an extra large because I wanted this to be oversized. Not only was it not oversized. It was almost too small and definitely would’ve been after a wash or 2. Additionally, this is not as lightweight as advertised so expect to get a medium weight hoodie. Lastly, the design is pretty poor. I couldn’t hardly move my arms in any range of motion without the hoodie riding up. I would’ve marked this as a one star review but I should’ve known better than to expect a quality hoodie for $20. Just know you’re getting what you pay for.
