هذا الكتاب جمع مادته العلامة الإمام ابن القيم من مدرسة النبوة ، فتحدث عن أثر الذكر في حياة المسلم وكيف تنقلب المحنة إلى منحة ، والضيق إلى فسحة ، والألم إلى أمل ، ثم تحدث عن صفات العارف بالله ، ثم عن استقامة القلب والجوارح ، ثم تحدث عن أنواع الذكر ، وبعد هذا بدأ بأذكار عمل اليوم والليلة والمناسبات وختمها بأدعية جامعة مفيدة ، فمن جعل هذا الكتاب أنيسه كان من الذاكرين الله كثيراً وسيجد في قلبه ، فقد أتى فيه مؤلفه بفوائد عالية ، وفرائد غالية قدمته على كثير من الكتب
محتوى الكتاب وأبرز فوائده:
- فضل الذكر: يروي فيه أحاديث النبي ﷺ ويبين منزلته العظيمة في الإسلام.
- فوائد الذكر: سرد فيه المؤلف أكثر من 70 فائدة للذكر، مثل طرد الشيطان، جلب الرزق، ومحو الهموم.
- أصل الكتاب: في أصله رسالة بعث بها ابن القيم إلى أحد إخوانه ناصحاً ومرشداً.
