A very nice steam locomotive Driver`s "Grimsby" snap box, these metal boxes all seem to have been made in Grimsby in many small tinsmiths workshop. Most steam loco crews had one and these boxes and contained the crews rules books, special notices and more importantly their sandwiches! This box has been a much loved possession as its had several small repairs done over the years to keep it in service, the driver`s name J.C.NEWMAN is stamped on a brass tag and soldered to the box. This box is in good overall useable condition and measures 11" X 7 1/2" x 9". This box has a lovely patina.
