In December 2016, after more than a year of touring the world behind her 2015 LP Over and Even, Joan Shelley and Nathan Salsburg headed a few hours north to Chicago, where they joined Jeff Tweedy in Wilco's Loft studio for five days. Spencer Tweedy, home from college, joined on drums, while James Elkington (a collaborator to both Tweedy and Salsburg) shifted between piano and resonator guitar. Jeff added electric accents and some bass, but mostly, he helped the band stay out of it's own way. "He was protecting the songs. He was stopping us before we went too far," Shelley says. The Loft proved essential for that approach, as it was wired to capture every musical moment, so no take was lost. If, for instance, some magic happened while Spencer added drums to a tune he'd never heard, or while Elkington tinkered behind a piano, the tape was rolling. Indeed, half of these songs are first takes. "The first time is always the best. That's when everyone's on the edge of their seats, listening to not mess it up," Shelley adds. "They're depending on each other to get through it." It's fitting that the resulting set is self-titled. These are, after all, Shelley's most assured and complete thoughts to date, with lyrics as subtle and sensitive as her peerless voice and a band that offers support through restraint and nuance. In eleven songs, this is the sound of Joan Shelley emerging as one of music's most expressive emotional syndicates.

She goes through things pretty quick, and I know she could have destroyed ...

My dog is a heavy chewer, and player (Doberman). I got one of these when she was a puppy and about 2 years later it broke in half from periodic chewing and tugging. It was one of her favorites and I was impressed it lasted so long so I ordered another one. She goes through things pretty quick, and I know she could have destroyed this fast as well, but it probably helped that she had other things she was supposed to chew on instead. We never encouraged her to chew this, but she loves bringing it over so we can throw it, or tug on it. Never had any issues with the squeaker (until the first one broke in half after 2 years). I would recommend it, but try to encourage it for play and not for chewing. It is flexible and durable and handles a 70lb Doberman dangling from it periodically.

Fun!

This was nice and fun for my dogs. Squeegee could have last a little longer. It lasted about 2 weeks until they were bored of it but I think that’s more of a my dog issue.

High quality, durable, loved by my chewer *

Excellent chew bone Toy for aggressive chewer. I've purchased this same brand bone/ Toy for several years. One lasts at least 1-2 years ( if it doesn't get run over by a lawn mower). Lol. I usually pay $8-$9 for one in retail stores. This is an excellent price at $6.
Squeaker stops after a few months but my Field Spaniel dog is deaf now anyway! He loves chewing on this for his gums and when people are gathered in the same room he just starts chewing and enjoying himself in the midst of fellowship.

Felt durable but it couldn’t hold up

I really thought my pet wouldn’t be able to destroy it but it’s in tiny pieces in the trash now. we played together and she was gentle I guess because she didn’t bite or tug hard at all I left her alone with it like I’ve done before but this time she broke it down in chunks. Did not have this toy for more then 24 hours.
