Libec 150mm flat base pedestal system for outside broadcast and studio use, payload 60kgThe configuration for a 150mm flat base pedestal system capable of supporting a heavy 60 kg (132. 3 lbs) payload for both outside broadcast (OB) and studio environments is anchored by the Libec P1000 Heavy Duty Pedestal System. The configuration for a 150mm flat base pedestal system capable of supporting a heavy 60 kg (132.3 lbs) payload for both outside broadcast (OB) and studio environments is anchored by the Libec P1000 Heavy-Duty Pedestal System.

The P1000 is Libec's flagship 150mm flat-base camera pedestal chassis. It is natively engineered to carry heavy broadcast configurations, teleprompters, talent monitors, and massive box lenses when paired with high-capacity 150mm-class flat-base fluid heads like the Libec QH3.

System Engineering for Studio & Outside Broadcast Deployment

The P1000 architecture utilizes a highly modular construction that allows it to transition smoothly between pristine studio environments and rugged outdoor field broadcasts:

1. Quick-Tear Disassembly for OB Logistics

Traditional heavy studio pedestals are monolithic and require multi-person lifts or dedicated ramps to transport. The P1000 features a modular design that breaks down quickly into three distinct components without tools:

  • The P1000 Column

  • The Master Steering Ring

  • The Heavy-Duty Rolling Dolly Base

This toolless tear-down capability makes it possible to transport a 60 kg capacity pedestal platform inside standard OB production vans, field cases, or utility trucks.

2. Dual-Stage Column Stroke (Pneumatic + Gas Assist)

To manage massive camera systems up to 60 kg smoothly on-air, the P1000 splits the vertical lifting force across two distinct internal mechanisms:

  • Upper Stage (Pneumatic Balance): Filled with compressed air using the included manual high-capacity pump (or a field compressor via its standard Schrader tire valve), the upper stage utilizes air pressure to provide weightless "Perfect Balance" across a 41.5 cm stroke. You can adjust friction on the fly with a dedicated drag knob.

  • Lower Stage (Gas Spring Assist): The lower stage uses a powerful internal gas spring setup across a 39.5 cm stroke. This serves as a reliable mechanical counter-assist, allowing the crew to quickly establish a baseline camera height before fine-tuning air pressure.

3. Adaptable 3-Mode Casters & Cable Guards

The system's large 125mm (4.9") double-wheel casters are designed to meet the split demands of indoor studios and outdoor environments:

  • The Foot-Switch Tracking System: Features a structural foot pedal that toggles the wheels into three steering states: Free Mode (all wheels swivel for tight cornering), Tracking Mode (locks wheels straight for precise linear track lines), and Steer Mode (locks rear wheels for precise pivoting).

  • Variable Cable Guards: Includes heavy steel ring guards. For Studio Use, they can be set low to clear thick facility fiber and power cables. For Outside Broadcast Use, they can be raised higher or completely detached to clear gravel, uneven temporary plywood flooring, or unpaved terrain without catching.

Critical Cross-Environment Operational Safety Rules:

⚠️ The Pre-Mount Pressurization Warning: Never pump compressed air into the P1000 column when the 150mm top flat base is bare. Always fully bolt down the fluid head and clamp your complete camera/teleprompter package into place before adding air. Pressurizing an unladen pedestal will cause the upper column to shoot upward with explosive kinetic speed when the mechanical safety lock is disengaged, risking severe equipment destruction or injury.

☀️ The Temperature Expansion Variable: When deploying the P1000 for Outside Broadcast applications, monitor your ambient climate changes. If you pressurize the column during an early morning call or inside a cold, air-conditioned studio, and then roll the rig into direct midday sunlight, the internal air pressure will rise naturally due to thermal expansion. Keep an eye on the integrated, easy-read pressure gauge and use the bleed valve to vent rising pressure to ensure consistent vertical balance.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.
