Before the advent of photography in 1839, Americans were consumed by the fashion for silhouette portraits. Economical in every sense, the small, stark profiles cost far less than oil paintings and could be made in minutes. Black Out, the first major publication to focus on the development of silhouettes, gathers leading experts to shed light on the surprisingly complex historical, political, and social underpinnings of this ostensibly simple art form. In its examination of portraits by acclaimed silhouettists, such as Auguste Edouart and William Bache, this richly illustrated volume explores likenesses of everyone from presidents and celebrities to everyday citizens and enslaved people. Ultimately, the book reveals how silhouettes registered the paradoxes of the unstable young nation, roiling with tensions over slavery and political independence. Primarily tracing the rise of the silhouette in the decades leading up to the Civil War, Black Out also considers the ubiquity of the genre today, particularly in contemporary art. Using silhouettes to address such themes as race, identity, and the notion of the digital self, the four featured living artists--Kara Walker, Kristi Malakoff, Kumi Yamashita, and Camille Utterback--all take the silhouette to unique and fascinating new heights. If you were looking for a sign to buy this, here it is
Color: A) Small 2.5" Ball
If you are looking for a ball that can stand up next to a heavy, aggressive chewer.. this is a good choice. Our Pitbull literally destroyed any and every toy that she gets with the exception of one kind of kong ball. She tore through the kong Frisbees, any kind of squeaker toy, and the wobble wag giggle ball (she usually always ends up destroying these but it takes a few weeks. Today she beat her record and had her brand new ball destroyed within the first 30 minutes of us taking it out of the box). But, this ball she has not been able to destroy. I'd like to believe that the Kong ball she has and this ball are made of the same material. Because they are the only balls she can't ruin. And it's not because of a lack of trying. We have watched her sit there and chew with a side of her mouth for an hour or more, trying to make some kind of indention or tear in it and it just never happened. She loves to chew this thing, chase this thing, sleep with this thing. I most certainly recommend this ball. If it is I'ah proof then it is most certainly, 100% a durable ball and worth every penny

Chew King Supreme Chew Toy

So far, freaking amazing. This ball is awesome. I have a 90 lb American Bulldog. Like other reviews. Lot of " indestructible balls" lasted minimum time. Not this one. She even took it to bed with her
I bought the 3 inch ball, not the 4 inch ball. The 3 inch ball works amazingly for a large Dog. Yes the 4 inch would be better. So in my opinion, either ball would be fine.
As others also said. This ball keeps a active Dog busy for hours. Love to play catch. Love frozen peanut butter in it.
One last thing. The price is amazing. I don't see needing to buy another, unless it is lost, because this is made to last. We couldn't be happier.

Malinois proof
Color: B) Medium 3" Ball
So far this has held up great. My Malinois who has destroyed nearly every ball I’ve gotten her, this one has lasted over 3 weeks without a dent, compared to some that don’t even last a day lol. Although the medium size is a little too big for her liking she still plays with it. It’s very durable and I like the middle part for engagement as well. I would recommend if you have a dog who destroys every ball possible.

One of the few "heavy duty" toys that my pittie hasn't destroyed after a couple of weeks. Most of them last two days. She's an absolute beast so I'm confident if she can't destroy it, few dogs can.
