Proper nutrition is essential for highlighting the stunning colors of Koi. The significant inclusion of spirulina microalgae in this feed promotes color saturation and enhancement, alongside clear demarcation of color zones. White areas remain bright without an unsightly yellow tint. Spirulina boasts over 50% protein content, providing all essential amino acids along with numerous unsaturated fatty acids. Furthermore, the algae are rich in various vitamins and minerals. Astaxanthin, in particular, enhances coloration, especially in red regions. This pigment, akin to vitamins, bolsters the immune system, acts as an antioxidant, and supports reproductive health. Only the natural, highly bioavailable form of astaxanthin is utilized in sera feed, with Haematococcus algae being the primary source (60.5 mg of astaxanthin per kg of feed). This colored feed can be offered year-round when the water temperature exceeds 8°C. It serves as a complete diet for all Koi.
