Vous êtes un dracologue amateur dans le monde de Wyrmspan, un endroit où des dragons de toutes formes, tailles et couleurs parcourent les cieux. Explorez un labyrinthe caché que vous avez récemment déterré sur vos terres et attirez ces magnifiques créatures dans le sanctuaire de vos grottes.

Au cours d'une partie de Wyrmspan, vous construirez un sanctuaire pour des dragons de toutes formes et de toutes tailles. Votre sanctuaire commence par trois espaces creusés : l'espace le plus à gauche de votre Caverne cramoisie, votre Grotte dorée et votre Gouffre d'améthyste. Au cours du jeu, vous creuserez d'autres espaces dans votre sanctuaire et attirerez des dragons à y vivre, enchaînant ainsi de puissantes capacités et gagnant les faveurs de la guilde des dragons.

Wyrmspan s'inspire des mécanismes de Wingspan, mais ses éléments uniques font de Wyrmspan un jeu autonome (non compatible avec Wingspan).
