The Adventures of Tiny The Tuxedo Cat is about Stacey Burk's cat, Tiny. Tiny is very small and mischievous. By looking at Tiny, one would think she would be timid and shy due to her small stature. Tiny in fact, is brave, confident, and bold. She explores everything and gets into many things that she shouldn’t explore. She is curious, playful, and daring. In this story, she has an adventurous motorcycle ride with her owner, Patrick. She stows away in his motorcycle’s side saddlebags one evening. That morning, she finds herself on the way to Patrick’s office.

Children will enjoy learning about Tiny. They may even see that they share many personality traits with her. They will enjoy reading about Tiny as she takes a few big risks. She doesn’t let her small size determine her self-worth, opportunities, and value. This book gives the reader time to reflect on their own ability to believe in themselves, set goals, find opportunities to take risks, and to be brave and bold. It also gives them a chance to see how Tiny handles her limitations in life with confidence. Burk hopes that readers will see Tiny's confidence and be encouraged to try new things without hesitation.

Beating guns - important things to ponder (so they do not beat us!)
Format: Kindle
I recently read an early copy of this book (Feb 2019). Beating Guns presents a thoughtful view of guns in our country. Seems like a good overview of where we are and how we got there. I appreciate that the views are presented by (fellows) that have held guns, so that they are not an abstract concept but a reality to them. I would hope this book helps people see the issues perhaps with a bit more understanding, and that in turn may lead to dialogue between people to arrive at a less antagonistic situation. This topic is complicated; no one book can possibly cover all the angles and options, yet this book and this approach are a reasonable way to keep people thinking about solutions.

Read it. You'll like it.
Format: Kindle
This book is challenging. Mostly because it hurts. It hurts to see statistics. It hurts to see memorials of lives lost that didn't have to be. But for me, it hurts because we are to be kingdom people now and we've failed on the gun front. I'm in the process of taking a rifle that was used in suicide and turning into a tool for life. We need to do that. So buy the book. Read it. Wrestle with it. Then get to turning swords into ploughshares.
