Eddie Flowers is a legend of the American rock sub-underground. Starting as an Alabama-bound fanzine scribe back in the early '70s, Eddie drifted to Bloomington to lend his presence to the Gizmos in the days before 'punk' was codified. Next, he turned up in L.A., where he founded the legendary acid squawlers, Crawlspace. Crawlspace was a thoroughly nuts collection of loosely rotating heads, who existed from 1985 into the new century. They played few actual 'shows,' but still managed to churn out endless documents of their music making. Still, Crawlspace's few vinyl offerings are exquisitely fucked, and include some of the first heavy deployments of Can-generated riff-pulsing heard anywhere on the scene. Anyway, L.A. has a way of eating it's children, and Eddie was darn near gobbled by the Sunshine Monster before he was spirited away to Indiana by some old and solid friends. Once there, he lost no time getting a new 'situation' together, and this album is it's first graspable evidence. The music created by The Wax-Lip-Swamp-Dub unit is thick with acid-haze (generated by a real random assortment of instruments) and powered into fields of Can-like glory by the superb drumming of Tyler Damon (previously heard on (Manas III (FTR 330LP, 2017)). Eddie's vocals sprawl across the top of it all, giving an entirely new meaning to R. Meltzer's phrase, 'blabbermouth lockjaw of the soul.' The vocals here are all that, but they lay out like a beatnik rattlesnake frying happily in the Texas sun. It is a beautiful trip. An immature take on Peter Parker only suitable for the most immature reader

Someday, Marvel Comics won't be controlled by white male Boomers/GenXers who make Peter Pan look well adjusted and who incessantly try to recapture a childhood that never actually existed while believing women have cooties and adult relationships are icky. But until then, we get Amazing Spider-Man by Joe Kelly, whose writing is the living embodiment of the Steve Buscemi "How do you do, my fellow kids" meme.
This run is boring, trite and cliched. You could probably get a more insightful and original story by asking ChatGPT to write one for you. The only thing going for the run - so far - is that Kelly at least isn't outright aggressively antagonizing the reader unlike the previous writer. It's just...bland and mediocre.

The best beginner Batman omnibus

The Batman omnibus for people trying to get into him with great art by the late Tim Sale. This book is amazingly written by Jeph Loeb even with the controversial and bad stories he will always be one of the best

Solid Omnibus
Format: Hardcover
This omnibus collects some of the best stories for batman fans. The hard cover at first glance is bland and seems like an after thought but can easily be overlooked. Its a black cardboard material similar to the omnis that DC keeps dishing out non stop. Keep the dust jacket on after reading and it will look great on your shelf. The binding is similar to the new omnis coming out recently from DC and it stays flat when reading and isnt tight. Its a sewn binding and I havent had any issues. As far as the pages go their not too thin and not too thick. The colors really come out and the shades of black really look well done and you can tell they didnt just reprint. There was some thought that went into this. There are some really cool extras in the back which makes up for the overall price. In all this is a giant collection of some awesome stories and my review is a little all over but you want a reason why its 5 stars.

Looking for the perfect gift for a Batman fan? Get this!

Before you buy this for a Batman fan, please make sure they already own it :) This collection is amazing, and it's perfect for a Batman fan that may appreciate a nice high-quality graphic novel featuring their favorite hero.
This story features some of the best storylines in the history of Batman, and personally, I LOVE the art style.
This is the PERFECT starter book for a fan of the Batman movies, shows, and games. Many fans who don't collect or read comics feel that way because following the single issue releases of ongoing comic series can be difficult and confusing.
This collection includes several complete stories that serve as an amazing starting point for any comic or Batman fan.
