Based on the Bundeswehr’s Kanonenjagdpanzer chassis, the Jaguar 1 was upgraded between 1978 and 1983 with HOT missile systems, additional armour, and later, improved optics for night operations.

Serving with the German Bundeswehr until 2005 and the Austrian Army until 2006, the Jaguar 1 was a powerful anti-tank asset capable of firing its HOT missiles from within the safety of its armoured hull, even in NBC conditions.
