Ein Motiv aus dem Kalender "Niagarafälle - American Falls und Horseshoe Fall " von Peter Roder: Der Wasserdurchfluß der imposanten Niagarafälle wird tagsüber auf etwa die Hälfte und nachts auf etwa ein Viertel des normalen Durchflusses gedrosselt. Die eingesparte Wassermenge wird über ein Stauwehr für die Stromgewinnung genutzt. So ist es möglich, dass die Wasserfälle morgens per Knopfdruck eingeschaltet werden können. Die oben auf den Fällen gelegene Insel Goat Island spaltet die Fälle in zwei Teile, die American Falls, die auf amerikanischem Staatsgebiet liegen und den Horseshoe Fall, durch den die Grenze zwischen Kanada und den USA verläuft.
