Die Erfahrung der Stille des dunklen Waldes in Verbindung mit der wilden Bewegung des Flusses Leitzach sind die Pole dieser Komposition. Die vielfätigen Wechselbeziehungen der Natur fängt Thomas Popp mit feinen Zeichenlinien, natürlicher Farbigkeit und lasierender Malweise ein.
Thomas Popp studierte von 1982 bis 1985 Malerei an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München und anschließend Kommunikationsdesign an der
FH-München.
Entgegen dem damals vorherrschenden Trend zur Abstraktion entwickelte er schon bald einen figurenstarken Stil, der stark von seinen Vorbildern Otto Dix und vor allem Max Beckmann beinflusst ist.
Inzwischen hat Thomas Popp längst seine eigene wiedererkennbare Handschrift gefunden, die sich in all seinen unterschiedlichen Themen manifestiert.
Typische Künstlerthemen wie Portraits, Badende, Landschaften und ganz individuelle Themen wie Großstadt, Kneipenleben, glückliche Tiere, oder Arkadien erarbeitet sich der Künstler durch unzählige Skizzen und verfügt deshalb inzwischen über ein umfangreiches Gesamtwerk.

Very happy with purchase. I bought this to replace my son’s otterbox heavy duty case because the plastic kept breaking around it to where it dropped for the last time and shattered the screen protector and chipped the corner of the iPad. This was a fraction of the price and seems way more durable.
